Hospitality Blending Light with the Traditions of Kanazawa

ModuleX® was selected for the Ryotei Manpuku Cross Gate Kanazawa opened on the 2nd floor of Cross Gate Kanazawa at the Kanazawa Station Kanazawa Port entrance.

The word “ryotei” conveys the idea of a welcoming, relaxing space that offers hospitality to travelers. The restaurant’s concept centers on providing one of the true pleasures of travel—delicious cuisine in a serene, comfortable environment.
The interior design is based on light-colored wood and incorporates elements of Kanazawa’s traditional crafting techniques, such as gold leaf and red ochre lacquer. Guests can enjoy dining in a variety of settings depending on the occasion and party size, including fully private rooms, semi-private rooms, counter seating, and table seating.

To ensure a relaxing experience, we developed the lighting plan using our original Lighting Modulation in Viewing Angle Range® lighting design method.
We carefully balanced the luminance and illuminance of the light to enhance the visual appeal of the dishes on the table while ensuring that the surrounding scenery remains pleasant to view.

Our original environmental control technology ModuleX®Controls manages lighting throughout the entire space, adjusting the balance of luminance and illuminance according to the time of day.
During the daytime, the illuminance is set higher to harmonize with the natural light streaming in through the windows.
After sunset, the luminance––particularly on the vertical surfaces––is reduced to create a calm and soothing atmosphere, while still maintaining lighting that enhances the visual appeal of the food.
Because the restaurant interior is visible from the station rotary, we also balanced the interior luminance with the external view in mind to catch the eye of potential customers.
