Fusing light control techniques

ModuleX® was selected for the new office of Loadstar Capital K.K., a real estate investment and fintech company.

The design theme of the office was to embody the fusion of real estate, finance, and IT. Guided by the key elements inferred from this theme—dynamism, greenness (foliage and light), fluidity, transparency, and openness—we developed the lighting plan using our original Lighting Modulation in Viewing Angle Range® lighting design method, carefully examining how much light energy to provide each location.

The office features a 4.6-meter-high ceiling, and the lighting plan was formulated to highlight the various design characteristics of the ceiling while drawing the space together into a large, continuous whole.

At the entrance––which fully leverages the dynamic qualities of the space––in order to draw visitors’ gaze further inward, we incorporated uplights to illuminate the area above the lowered ceiling and ceiling lights to highlight the centrally positioned plantings. We carefully examined the overall luminance distribution of the space and determined the optimal illuminance levels accordingly.

Furthermore, the walls surrounding the entrance, including those partitioning the security area, as well as the conference room walls are all transparent glass. This allows natural light from outside to penetrate deep into the interior, where it blends with artificial light to create an environment that enables people to sense the passage of time and feel connected to the outside world, even while inside the office.
