Zoning control through light effects

ModuleX® was selected for the Ebisu showroom of Smaregi, Inc., a provider of cloud-based POS register systems using tablet devices.

Natural light pours into the bright, open showroom through expansive windows. The POS system trial area and a meeting/seminar space within are loosely defined by variations in ceiling and floor levels, differences in finishing materials, and greenery––resulting in a seamless, wall-free environment.

We applied our original Filter Lighting Design® technology, which controls light quality through complex optical design, to zone each area within the seamless environment through light effects.
The lighting plan intentionally created areas of brightness and shadow within the space, taking into account the amount of natural light brought in during the day. Introducing this contrast adds rhythm and depth, more effectively highlighting the featured elements.

In addition, in private rooms where curtains block sightlines and shut out natural light, we applied our ModuleX® Controls environmental control technology to enable easy adjustment of the lighting environment for different uses, such as projector presentations or business meetings.
