A space wrapped in natural materials and natural light,
creating an atmosphere free from artificial lighting

ModuleX® was selected for LEAFMANIA, newly opened in CABO—a multifunctional complex for work, living, and leisure in Yoyogi-Uehara.

The first floor serves as a gallery of teaware and other artistically crafted items, while the second floor provides a space to enjoy Chinese tea offered by the owner. Both levels are designed with a modern, minimalist aesthetic, with the first floor minimizing the number of openings while drawing in abundant natural light to highlight the artworks, and the second floor using shoji screens made of Japanese paper to create a space gently enveloped in light.

During the day, natural light fills the entire space, producing a gentle atmosphere. To preserve this ambiance even after dusk, we applied our original Lighting Modulation in Viewing Angle Range® lighting design method, carefully analyzing where and how much light energy is required throughout the space to develop the lighting plan.

In the first-floor gallery space, we arranged lighting fixtures with a high degree of uniformity. By blending natural daylight with artificial light, the design not only highlights the artworks but also conveys the character and atmosphere of the space itself.
For the second-floor space, we created a tranquil environment where visitors can enjoy the gentle light filtering through the Japanese paper shoji screens during the day. Through light quality control using our Filter Lighting Design™ technology, we achieved a plan that minimizes the number of fixtures to keep their presence unnoticed, resulting in a calm and soothing atmosphere.

In addition, with our ModuleX® Controls environmental control technology, we balance luminance and brightness levels between day and night, creating an atmosphere where guests can always enjoy a comfortable and welcoming experience, no matter when they visit.
