A harmonious blend of regularity and flexibility
ModuleX® was selected for the headquarters office building of Furukawa Manufacturing Co., Ltd., which supports manufacturing sites worldwide—particularly in the automotive sector—by developing production systems for manufacturing.
All floors feature glass exterior walls, and the unobstructed surroundings allow an exceptional amount of natural light to permeate the building.
The architectural design incorporates spatial structures composed of regular patterns of dots and lines. Reflecting this concept, our lighting plan enables a consistent lighting environment no matter the floor layout, while maintaining the flexibility to adapt seamlessly to layout changes during operation.
To ensure practicality within the workspaces, considerations were made for the windows, such as installing blinds and taking other measures. In addition, the atrium was equipped with lighting fixtures from our custom-made MOTIF BESPOKE line, featuring spectral variation capabilities.
By applying ModuleX®︎ Controls environmental control technology and our original Time Sequence Design® lighting design method, we linked control of the window measures and lighting fixtures to create office spaces able to adapt to the flow of time and the activities of the people working within them.
While regularity may initially appear to be an inorganic design theme, the regular lighting layout—integrated with the architectural design—has created a lighting environment that fully showcases the building’s design intent. From the outside, it emphasizes the layering of the floors, while bringing depth and dimensionality to the interior space.
