ModuleX® lighting was selected for the HOTEL THE LEBEN OSAKA, which opened in Minamisemba in the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka.
With the theme of "spreading the joy of travel that provides everyday comfort," the hotel has a concept of having guests take off their shoes before entering rooms to make them feel comfortable like at their homes, based on Japanese custom. The client's request was to create not a luxurious and extraordinary space but a space that is filled with a rich and comfortable atmosphere while feeling like an extension of daily life.
To respond to this request, we prepared a plan in which the lighting fixtures—which are glare-controlled using our proprietary optical control technology—are positioned with the customer's line of sight in mind, so that they do not feel the presence of the lighting fixtures, but only the lighting effect.
The lobby lounge area features the light from the ceiling using our proprietary lighting design technique, Gradation Lighting Design™, and a modulated rhythmic pattern of light on the floor, to welcome guests and entice them into the lounge.
To ensure guests' comfort at any time 24 hours a day, we used our proprietary lighting environment control technology, ModuleX® Controls, to adjust the balance of brightness and illumination throughout the space.
To create a relaxing environment in guest rooms, our independently developed lighting design technique, Lighting Modulation in Viewing Angle Range®, was used for the pendant light over the bedside and the light from the headboard to faintly illuminate the space.
We achieved a tranquil space by obtaining the desired effect while ensuring safety with a minimum amount of downlighting.
