ModuleX® has been used in a new store, called HIBINO POTTERY,
where general customers can buy the Mino ware that the company
was previously selling only to professional users of ceramic ware.
The store is run by HIBINO CERAMIC CO., LTD., which evaluates the
latest trends in the ceramics market through a diverse lens and
manufactures and sells beautiful pottery that uses Mino ware
techniques to meet the market's needs. It asked us to design
an approach that displays its products like works in an art gallery
and maintains optimum lighting even when the positions of the
product shelves are changed along with the seasons.
The lighting plan that we carried out uses wall washer downlights
controlled by our original optical control technology to shine
downward from where the ceiling and the display walls meet.
This creates an even, soft light that illuminates the products in
a way that presents them at their most beautiful, no matter where
they are situated on the wall.
Furthermore, the bracket lights attached to the walls use ceramics
actually sold in the store and were designed and manufactured using
our custom-made product technology, Motif Bespoke. The soft light
that extends from behind the pieces adds a further layer of
expression to the space.
