Pharmaceutical company Nippon Shinyaku selected ModuleX® lighting
for the open plan office space at its Kyoto headquarters.
The challenge here was to create a space in which people feel no
disconnect between inside and outside environments,
while ensuring privacy, despite the open plan. To tackle these
requirements, we used our original Lighting Naturalization®
design method to figure out how to supplement the natural light
coming into the building with just the right amount of artificial light
to achieve the desired illumination, with balanced brightness and
contrast. In the end, we created a very inviting space that offers a
seamless sense of connection between indoor and outdoor.
The stylish lighting fixtures were designed to match the space, with
careful attention to shape, materials, size, and installation position.
Due to their regular arrangement, they blend into the space as interior
design elements and play an important role in segmenting the space.
We combined the luminaires, which boast minimal glare thanks to our
riginal optical control technology, with our ModuleX® Filter Lighting®
technology, to optimize the balance of brightness and contrast for
each area of the office. The resulting illumination is pleasant
and vibrant at any hour of the day or night.
